Nice picture of the bike. I like the one that says it puts a smie on your face.

My goal is to not gain weight between Thanksgiving and New Years. But it is really hard with all the good food around. I continue to go to the gym and do weights and then cardio on the bike. My knee won't let me do the treadmil and elipitical any more. I also do pilities (spellling error) and Yoga.

I got my hands behind my back, and I touched my fingertips together! I don't think I could do any of those! They are for someone much younger than me!

Jeanne, I had such a problem getting into the mind set of losing weight.  That really is the trick to success.  Last week I realized it was w-a-a-y past time to start dieting.  No sugar and almost no flour for two weeks now.  I've lost 7 pounds so far.  I always start off with a bang but the weight loss will slow down.  It was exciting this morning when I could button my jeans without having to jump up and down!!  I'm really committed this time and hope to lose at least 2 lbs. a week. Keep us in the loop on how you are progressing, Jeanne.  Weight Watchers is supposedly the best and healthiest way to go.  Congrats on getting started.

I was not making headway with my weight loss and having more  problems with my health so I gave in and rejoined Weight Watchers a couple of weeks ago. I am very happy to say that I am making progress. Wed is my weigh in night and so far I have lost 2.4 lbs. I prefer a.m. weigh ins because I weigh less then but going Wed night means I have two of my friends coming with me which makes a good support team. I am also doing my 20 min walking tape right here in my family room where it is nice and warm and cozy.

Darlene, sounds like a good start, and way to go.  I too go to the gym, I try to go 3 days a week, I workout on the tread mill, or ride the bike, sometimes I even use the elipitical, I try for 45 minutes.  Then after that I do the weights I try for 30 minutes.  While watching the doctors on TV, one of them, the cute one, don't remember his name, but he says if you have to chose between the 2, then the weights help you to continue to burn fat after your finished with your work out, so maybe right now, do only 15 minutes on the cardio, and at least try to get a few minutes on the weights, but start slow on the weights, don't want to make yourself sore then you want to quite.  I know when I am unable to get to the gym for whatever reason, and miss time, I am sore, so keep up the good work Darlene, baby steps!  Guess sometimes life wants to get in our way of working out, so guess we just have to keep plugging along!

well i started at the first of the month to exercise.  i have built up to 20 minutes on an eliptical machine, and 15 minutes on a cardiofit or rowing machine.  really want to work in some aerobics however havent been able to work that into my day yet.  so far i have lost 4 pounds.  that seems a mightly little bit, but at least it's a start.  ihave to get up and workout first thing in the m orning. waiting til over in the day just dosen't work for me.  have to get it out of the way first thing.  drinking water, maybe with warmer weather coming i can manage it.  sure just dosen't taste good!!  lol

I was going to check in every Monday and post my progress on weight loss.  This is to make me feel like I'm answering to others.  Well, I forgot yesterday and it wasn't because I was weak from the lack of food.  Trust me.   Anyway, no weight loss.  I have lots of reasons which as I used to tell my daughters, "Reasons are nothing more than excuses".  Grandkids moved in and brought their cookies, etc.  That's my excuse.  Progress to be made this week.
